Joining the chorus of support to the 30 Punjab-based farmer organisations, Dal Khalsa has announced to extend full support to the farmers’ struggle and join the 27 November “Delhi Chalo” march against the contentious farm laws being forcibly in Punjab and the rest of India.

IN A JOINT STATEMENT, DAL KHALSA LEADERS Harpal Singh Cheema and Harcharanjit Singh Dhami have stated that farmers are the backbone of Punjab and their organisation is with the farm leaders and with each and every farmer in this hour of crisis.

Dal Khalsa activists will join the farmers to march towards Delhi on 26/27 November in this united bid by Punjab to take the farmers’ agitation to its logical conclusions, said Dal Khalsa head Harpal Singh Cheema.

The leaders pointed out that, “the Narendra Modi government was blackmailing the protesting farmers by stopping good trains to Punjab to pressurize them to clear rail tracks without conceding to their demand to repeal the laws.”

Dal Khalsa leaders“This is nothing but state vindictiveness and a stubborn approach by the Indian government to enforce their say with the protesting farmers.”

As the Punjab farmers call to gherao Delhi gathers momentum, it will be significant to see the response of the government of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Will the governments allow this united effort by the Kisan organisations or will it clamp down and detain them prior to the movement of farmers to Delhi?
