Attack on Giani Amrik Singh: Sikhs need serious soul-searching

 -  -  114

Kesri Lehar ideologue and champion Jagdeesh Singh, as is his wont, asks serious questions that the Sikh community has to answer and the mechanism that it has to deliberate and evolve to effectively defeat the designs and actions of such thugs as who attacked Giani Amrik Singh Chandigarh while he was inside the precincts of Gurdwara Park Avenue in Southall, UK.

The thuggish attack on a parcharak – Giani Amrik Singh Chandigarh, once again, reveals an enduring tumorous cancer within the Sikh community which manifests every so often.

Sikhs who give opposing opinions or challenge a particular group, often become targets of these thuggish, intolerant mobs. These loud, heckling, rude and in your face groups; do a lot to alienate people and damage our ability to inform and engage both fellow Panjaabis and non-Panjaabis about our issues and causes.

This rogue violent, aggressive, belligerent element is a tumour which exists within many world communities. It is a noticeable feature of third world and ‘fourth world’ (John Papworth) communities and nations, which are subject to heavy external repression and violence from an imposing, persecuting rogue state (e.g. India, Pakistan, Turkey) coupled with a lack of an educated mainstream within that community and a general chaotic, disorderly, clumsy, corrupt, crude culture of community administration.

This attack on Giani Amrik Singh when the Sikhs worldwide are attempting to restore the pride of the turban through various forums and activities, is a further wake up call to us all for a wake up and action on this horrid underbelly of ideological, social and religious fascism.

Panjaabis, Sikhs, Kashmiris, Tamils, Kurds, Palestinians are all examples of this internal violence and fragmented chaos. Their external hostile state forces, benefit from these fragmented weaknesses and often encourages and insidiously feeds this.

Does the mainstream Sikh community have the will and the infrastructure to punish and prevent these destructive mob groups from doing further damage? Or will there continue to do such acts in Panjaab, UK, USA, Italy and beyond across the Sikh population?

Violent mobs are definitely not normal to Sikh behaviour. This is a new and dangerous trend. There is a definite seething, burgeoning problem of such rampant harassment and violence. I ask these bigoted minds, is their vision of Sikh society or an independent Sikh state one where they can openly and un-restrictively go out and beat up and harm a person they dislike? Is their intention of state power based on their personal mob power, currently shown in their putrefying acts of violence inside and outside of gurdwaras?

Will their intended Sikh state, called Khalistan or anything else, be one of disorder and violence? Indeed, what is their vision of a Sikh state?

Do they even have an authentic sense of a true, meaningful Sikh state? So far, I have not seen any evidence of this. I have only seen anger, mob power and violence. This is not what Panjaab freedom and independence and statehood is at all about.

The last 30 years has powerfully revealed the shockingly poor state of health of Sikh and Panjaabi institutions, leaders and indeed the community itself. Lies, double-standards, violence, fraud, and more are rampant in Gurdwaras, Gurdwara committees, the Khalistan movement, Sikh schools, Sikh charities, and more.

The idiots are going into gurdwaras to beat up other Sikhs. These idiots have no concern about the crimes against humanity which are going on all the time in our homes, families and community. Perhaps, they may be perpetrators themselves. These idiots are perpetrators themselves!

Imagine them running Khalistan. They would be dishing out punishments to whoever angered them, almost like Saddam Hussein.

They are a dangerous internal poison and threat to the Panjaabi community. These rogue, suspicious persons have alienated the wider Panjaabi community from Panjaabi causes and Panjaabi unity. They are disruptors, dividers and demons.

Shockingly sad, but bitterly true. As Guru Nanak powerfully said: “What you sow, so will you reap.”

A Sikh activist perturbed over the incident remarked, “No one sympathises, leave alone empathises  with a nation that is labelled as terrorists, mass murderers, lunatics and fanatics.

This incident when the Sikhs worldwide are attempting to restore the pride of the turban through various forums and activities, is a further wake up call to us all for a wake up and action on this horrid underbelly of ideological, social and religious fascism.

Why are these agitated elements not so agitated about real life issues of caste, domestic abuse, honour killings, etc, which are seething issues in our community still? Sikhs need to do soul-searching. The community has to rise up to these rogues before it is too late.

These rogues, want power for the sake of power. Their godfathers are in league with Badal Dal and BJP, only for the sake of power but over any principle whatsoever. This vicious collective of religious and non-religious rogues are running amok across Panjaab and India.

To save the situation, Power to Panjaab, it’s unique land, it’s phenomenal history, it’s liberating and empowering Sikhi, it’s seminal Gurus, it’s awesome Shaheeds, it’s profound Bhagats, it’s beautiful rivers, its lush soil, it’s vigorous language, it’s much needed freedom, it’s much deserved independent statehood, it’s much wanted international development!!!!… Power to Panjaab!!!! Power to small, natural nations!!!! Down with mega states and false super-imposing nations, producing such rogues.
