Despite an order of stay by the National Commission for Minorities and delayed proceedings in the Shillong High Court, the high level committee of the Meghalaya government is placing a Damocle’s sword on the poor Sikh residents by threatening to restart the absolutely illegal house-to-house inventory. The Sikh residents also await promised funds for their Gurdwara Sahib and school from the Punjab government and the SGPC.
