Af­ter clashes with the Sikhs in the Pun­jabi lane on 31 May, cur­few was im­posed which af­ter a few weeks was only a night cur­few and which has now been with­drawn. Mean­while the so-called high level com­mit­tee of the Megha­laya gov­ern­ment has asked the Shil­long Mu­nic­i­pal Board to make prepa­ra­tions for a sec­ond round of sur­vey and in­ven­tory of the Sikh houses. Sur­pris­ingly, no one is ex­plain­ing as to un­der which law are they plac­ing to do this?
