Manish Tiwari of Congress wins Sikh religious capital Anandpur Sahib
Hailing from Ludhiana, Manish Tiwari, who faced the outsider tag during the entire election campaign for the past few weeks, fought back the bickering campaign of Prem Singh Chandumajra of the Shiromani Akali Dal and defeated him to win the Anandpur Sahib seat.
He also defeated the former deputy speaker of Punjab Assembly Bir Devinder Singh, who was contesting as a nominee of the Taksali Akali Dal -a breakaway group from the mainstream Shiromani Akali Dal.
