For the second time in so many months, hundreds of activists and leaders of the BKU -Bharatiya Kisan Union Ugrahan group, from the Punjab, especially from the interior Malwa belt, with their green flags in the air and with their spirit soaring sky-high, despite overnight stoppages by the Delhi Police, managed to reach Shaheen Bagh a few minutes back, accompanied by volunteers of the Shaheen Bagh Morcha.

SCARED OF THE CONTINUING INTERVENTION OF SIKH ACTIVISTS, the Delhi Police swung into action in the wee hours last night to stop members of the BKU -Bharatiya Kisan Union-Ugrahan group from Punjab at Sarita Vihar, nearly 3 kilometres away from the Shaheen Bagh protest site.

It is significant to note that from the Punjab, it is only the BKU Ugrahan group is the only Kisan organisation which has reached the protest site so far. It clearly shows the fault lines within the Kisan bodies as many of them either support the stand of the BJP or have so far chosen to remain silent on the issue.  This does not augur well for organisations which should have a people-centric approach.

Shouting slogans against the CAA-NRP-NRC regimen and expressing views of communal harmony, the volunteers reached Shaheen Bagh to a rousing welcome from the participants at the Morcha.

Volunteers including men, women and children in eight buses were taken to Gurdwara Bala Sahib at Maharani Bagh Gurdwara Sahib.

A semblance of Sikhs from other organisations and bodies from Delhi greeted them upon reaching Shaheen Bagh.
