Air India launches Delhi-Nanded daily flight
Amidst prayers and fanfare, Air India started bi-weekly direct flights from Delhi to Nanded targeting Sikh pilgrims who regularly visit Takht Hazur Sahib -one of the five Takhts of the Sikh community, associated with the Tenth master, Guru Gobind Singh.
Two Sikh pilots manned the maiden flight yesterday with Bole so Nihal slogans at the departure lounge of the Nanded airport.
Since the coming up of the Guru Gobind Singh Ji Airport at Nanded in 2008 during the Tercentenary celebrations of the Gurtagaddi Diwas of Guru Granth Sahib, the air connectivity has substantially increased with direct flights from Mumbai and Amritsar by many airlines.
The following is a photo and video feature of the launch ceremony, shared by WSN readers who were part of the event and the flight.
