Badal Dal house cracking up, Sekhwan resigns

 -  -  116

The Badal Dal leadership is falling like a house of ninepins. Gurdaspur leader Sewa Singh Sekhwan resigned in the presence of other Majha doyens Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Rattan Singh Ajnala, adding more woes to an already beleaguered party trying to gain foothold in Punjab.

Announcing his resignation, he endorsed all resolutions of the Bargari Morcha. He demanded the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal. He asked his party colleagues to seek pardon from the Akal Takht Jathedar for all the mistakes that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal ) has committed over the last 10 years.

Evoking a sharp reaction to his allegations against the party leadership, the party was quick to expel him from the primary membership of the party, calling him “ungrateful and irresponsible.”

Starting with Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and followed by Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, with a banner of revolt by Delhi leader Manjit Singh GK and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, one after the other the Badal father-son duo is facing stiff resistance while attempting to regain their Panthic agenda.
