Chandigarh lawyers express solidarity with Bargari Morcha

A team of Chandigarh-based lawyers led by lawyer activist Navkiran Singh of Lawyers for Human Rights Group International attended a conference in Bargari and expressed solidarity with the demands of the Bargari Insaaf Morcha after meeting leaders of the movement there.

The lawyers offered their legal services to prosecute those are accused of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.

Speaking at the conference, Navkiran Singh said that no accused should be allowed to go unpunished. “The Badal Dal has used the vote bank of the Sirsa Sauda Dera for political purposes, for which the quid pro quo was a pardon from the Akal Takht Sahib.”

Lawyers Tejinder SIngh Sudan, Parminder Singh Maloya and Harinder SIngh Ishar who were part of the delegation also offered their services for early release of Sikh political prisoners.
