Com­mem­o­ra­tive Thai Coins For 550 Years of Guru Nanak of­fered to pub­lic

Two com­mem­o­ra­tive coins in dif­fer­ent sizes and qual­ity, with the Mool Mantra em­bed­ded in Gur­mukhi and Thai and logo in  Eng­lish lan­guage, ded­i­cated to the 550 Years of the founder of Sikhism -Guru Nanak minted by the Royal mint of Thai­land are now avail­able for pur­chase for the gen­eral pub­lic.

The Thai gov­ern­ment which is­sued com­mem­o­ra­tive coins for the his­toric year of 2020 to co­in­cide with the 550 years of Guru Nanak, has now made avail­able these coins for sale to the gen­eral pub­lic.

Sri Guru Singh Sabha Bangkok, Namd­hari Sikh San­gat of Thai­land, Ma­haraja Gar­den City Bangkok (Neeld­hari Sikhs), Thai Sindh As­so­ci­a­tion and Dev Mand­hir along with the In­dian em­bassy of­fi­cials played a col­lab­o­ra­tive role to con­vince the Thai gov­ern­ment to re­lease these coins on this his­toric oc­ca­sion.

The com­par­a­tively big­ger one is made from Cop­per and the other of Nickel. The Front side of the coin has the has EK ONKAR Logo and Back­side has the 550 lo­gos and the Mool Mantra start­ing from Ek Onkar Sat­nam Kar­ta­purkh Nirb­hau Nir­vair Akal Purkh Ajooni Saibang Gur­parsard Jap,. em­bed­ded in Gur­mukhi lan­guage.

Thai commemorative coins

As per de­tails pro­vided by sources in Bangkok, one hun­dred coins are avail­able for sale.

It is note­wor­thy that these coins were re­leased in No­vem­ber 2019 by In­dian Prime Min­is­ter Naren­dra Modi dur­ing his trip to Bangkok.
