DAL KHALSA HAS UNEQUIVOCALLY HELD the Narendra Modi government accountable for the human rights violations in the state of Manipur, in a statement released today. The organization called upon all Parliamentarians to participate in a collective act of reflection by bowing their heads in shame for two minutes during the current ongoing session of the Indian Parliament.
Addressing the alarming trend of using rape as an instrument to shame and insult oppressed minority communities, Kanwar Pal Singh stressed that such reprehensible acts thrive due to the support and connivance of local administration and people in positions of power.

Significantly, recently, Dal Khalsa in a communique to the US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti had appreciated his offer to the government to intervene to restore normalcy in the state of Manipur.
Notably, the senior leader Kanwar Pal Singh highlighted that while this particular incident may be new, it is part of a distressing pattern of similar events in the past. Instances such as the dishonouring of Sikh women during the 1984 Sikh massacre in Delhi, the abuse and assault of Muslim women during the Gujarat riots in 2002, and prior incidents in Manipur and other parts of the NorthEast were mentioned to illustrate the gravity of the situation.
