Dal Khalsa questions Amritsar blast arrest police theory

 -  -  67

Dal Khalsa has claimed that after meeting the families of the two accused and villagers, they found glaring gaps in the police theory of arrests in the Amritsar bomb blast case.

Whenever police, particularly Punjab police claims that they have solved a case within a short span of time, the theory has to be taken with a pinch of salt or may be more than a pinch.

Dal Khalsa just did that. Dal Khalsa spokesperson travelled to the homes of the two accused, one of whom was arrested yesterday and the other is still at large to sift the chaff from the grain.

The claims of Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh solving the case of the Nirankari Bomb blast in less than 72 hours and the statements of families and villagers of the alleged accused countering and contesting CM’s claims had raised huge doubts which prompted the Dal Khalsa leadership to visit the families of Bikramjit Singh in village Dhariwal and Avtar Singh in Chak Mishri Khan.

The facts speak for themselves. While the incident happened on Sunday morning, the police raided the house of the alleged accused on Monday night. Bikramjit Singh was arrested on Monday night around midnight and only after illegal detention of more than 36 hours was his arrest formally recorded. At the same time, Avtar Singh’s house was also raided but as he was not found, his father was detained and he is still under illegal detention with the police.

Speaking to World Sikh News, Kanwarpal Singh said, “If Bikramjit Singh was detained on Monday night, why was his formal arrest delayed till Wednesday afternoon? When the police arrested him, there was a huge contingent of the police in the midnight raid, which was obviously after the police had some evidence. If that is so, then “what was the rationale for day long detention and harassment of Sikh youth associated with the Dal Khalsa and other organisations in Amritsar and Batala on Tuesday?

Kanwarpal Singh claimed that both the families stood by their version that Bikramjit Singh was arrested on Monday night from his house and so was Avtar’s father and that their wards were innocent and were not involved in any such unlawful activity.

The Dal Khalsa leader who toured the two villages with Dal Khalsa team members said that SHO Lopoke visited Chak Mishri Khan village last night, entered the house of the cousins of Avtar Singh and hurled verbal abuses at the women in the house. He used derogatory language for Sikhi headgear the women were wearing.

The family members of the Bikramjit Singh are reported to have met him when he was produced in the Ajnala courts today.

Not to take the developments lying down in view of the suspicion raised by the families, Kanwarpal Singh confirmed that his party would keep a tab  to ensure that police illegalities are exposed and the Punjab police learns to follow rule of law.
