Dal Khalsa president Harpal Singh Cheema in a statement from the Singhu border protest site, strongly condemned the framing of farmer leaders and Sikh activists in fake cases by the Delhi police at the behest of the government.

DAL KHALSA president Harpal Singh Cheema in a statement to the media from the protest site denounced the government of India for lodging false cases against farmers and Sikh activists saying that they didn’t indulge in violence.

“The unfurling of the Sikh Flag at Red Fort is neither unlawful nor an act of violence.”

Harpal Singh Cheema said that “it was a non-violent act of defiance and protest against the state-sponsored repression and injustices.  It was a symbolic reply by Punjab to the centralist right-wing agenda and anti-minority divisive politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party.”

“We urge farmer leaders to not indulge in mud-slinging and an internecine feud. It will harm and undermine farmers agitation,”

“We urge farmer leaders to not indulge in mud-slinging and an internecine feud. It will harm and undermine farmers agitation,”, he stated.

“Arm twisting on the one hand and creating a rift between farmers leaders by the Bharatiya Janata Party government under Narendra Modi. From day one, the government has been stubborn not to repeal the three contentious farm laws. Now they had taken refuge behind the flag incident, which is being blown out of proportion”, said Cheema.

“The unfurling of the Sikh Flag at Red Fort is neither unlawful nor an act of violence.”

Dal Khalsa leader Jasvir Singh Khandur pointed out that it’s time for all those who wish to see the laws repealed to show maturity, commitment and a united face.

Dal Khalsa also expressed serious concern at the missing Sikh youth unlawfully detained and arrested by the Delhi police after extensive torture and beatings at unknown police stations under more than 22 FIRs lodged at different police stations, especially at Kotwali and Nangloi police stations.
