Peo­ple come and ask this crazy one,
The one who has for­got­ten worldly ways.
The one who is per­pet­u­ally im­mersed within.
Tell us about that Kalgian Vala¹, O’ Maiden!
Tell us your mys­te­ri­ous se­cret, O’ Maiden!

We have heard Beloved is beau­ti­ful,
gives com­fort and re­moves pain,
Ut­terly sweet and mind-En­ticer.
Grace us the gift of this glimpse, O’ Maiden!
We un­wor­thy have come to sit by your door, O’ Maiden!

Our yearn­ing is to see the Dear­est,
That love­able Kalgian Vala.
A pull to see his Unique face.
How can we get this glimpse, O’ Maiden?
Please grant us this favour, O’ Maiden!

We will not ask you any other ques­tion,
We will not tire you again and again.

Ask the jogi² in the jun­gle, O’ Maiden?

I am fool­ish and crazy,
I have for­got­ten all paths and ways.
I am silly and spin­ning,
con­tin­u­ously re­peat­ing “Beloved, Beloved, O’ Maiden!”
With one Kalgian Vala in mind, O’ Maiden!

I am search­ing for those eyes.
If I find them, then Friend can be seen.
With­out those eyes, how can I get this glimpse?
Be­fore this glimpse, comes those eyes, O’ Maiden!
With­out those eyes, glimpse is with­held, O’ Maiden!

That Light Him­self is lov­able,
He puts the sparkle in the eyes.
With­out eyes, how can glimpse be re­ceived?

ਆ ਪੁਛਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ, ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਰਾਹ ਭੁਲਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ,
ਨਿਤ ਅਪਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ, ਉਹ ਕਲਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੱਸ ਕੁੜੇ?
ਕਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਵੇ ਰਹੱਸ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਅਸੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਹਣਾ ਹੈ, ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣਾ ਤੇ ਦੁਖ ਖੁਹਣਾ ਹੈ,
ਅਤਿ ਮਿੱਠਾ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾ ਖੈਰ ਦਰਸ ਦੀ ਅਸਾਂ ਕੁੜੇ?
ਤੈਂ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਆਨ ਥੁੜੇ।
ਇਕ ਤਲਬ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਦੁਲਾਰੇ ਦੀ, ਉਸ ਕਲਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਯਾਰੇ ਦੀ,
ਹੈ ਖਿੱਚ ਪਈ ਰਖ ਨਯਾਰੇ ਦੀ, ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਸਾਂ ਦਿਦਾਰ ਕੜੇ?
ਕਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੇ ਉਪਕਾਰ ਕੁੜੇ,
ਕੁਈ ਹੋਰ ਸ੍ਵਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਣਾਂ ਹੈ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਕਾਣਾਂ ਹੈ,
ਇਕ ਝਾਕਾ ਲੈ ਠਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਧ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਅਸਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਲ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਕਰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਮੈਂ ਸੁਣ ਹੱਸ ਦੁਹਨੀ ਹੋਨੀ ਹਾਂ, ਫਿਰ ਨੈਣ ਛਮਾਂ ਛਮ ਰੋਨੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਪਈ ਚੱਕੀ ਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਝੋਨੀ ਹਾਂ, ਏ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਝੁੰਡ ਆਨ ਜੁੜੇ!
ਕੀ ਆਖੇ ਸ਼ਹੁ  ਜੋ ਆਪ ਰੁੜੇ?
ਫਿਰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਿਆਣੀ ਨੂੰ, ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੁਣ ਪਰਭਾਣੀ ਤੂੰ।
ਕੀ ਪੁਛਦੇ ਮੁੱਝ ਇਆਣੀ ਨੂੰ? ਕੋਈ ਪੰਡਤ ਪਾਂਧਾ ਪੁੱਛ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਕੁਈ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਲ ਗਿੱਛ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਮੈਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਭਈ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ਹਾਂ, ਰਾਹ ਰਸਤੇ ਸੱਭ ਭੁਲਾਨੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਹੋ ਕਮਲੀ ਪਈ ਭੁਆਨੀ ਹਾਂ, ਰਟ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਿੱਤ ਕੁੜੇ,
ਇਕ ਕਲਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਮੈਂ ਅਖੀਆਂ ਪਈ ਲਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੀ, ਜੇ ਮਿਲਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੀਤ ਤਕਾਵਾਂ ਨੀ।
ਬਿਨ ਨੈਨ ਦਰਸ ਕਿਂਵ ਪਾਵਾਂ ਨੀ, ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਅੱਖ ਕੁੜੇ,
ਨਹੀਂ ਅੱਖ ਤਾਂ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵੱਖ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਉਹ ਚਾਨਣ ਆਪ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਹੈ, ਪਾਇ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਝਲਕਾਰਾ ਹੈ,
ਨਹੀਂ ਨੈਣ ਤੇ ਕਿਂਵ ਦੀਦਾਰਾ ਹੈ? ਲਭ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਜੋਗੀ ਅੱਖ ਕੁੜੇ।
ਸਿੱਕ-ਦਰਸ ਨ ਐਵੇਂ ਰੱਖ ਕੁੜੇ।
