Indian Farmers Union general secretary Jagmohan Singh, in a statement to the media, claimed that the people of Punjab had given overwhelming support to the Rail Roko announced by the United Kisan Morcha.

The United Kisan Morcha comprising Punjab’s 32 Kisan Unions today protested peacefully in 40 places to support the Rail-Roko -stoppage of trains program, as per the release of the farmers union.

Jagmohan Singh said that as the government is not showing any leeway, farmers are bitter and angry. “We are protesting against the 3 farm laws for the last 3 months but the government is not budging from its obstinate stand.”

Today’s protest was to let the people of India know more about the farmers’ rights and how the new farm laws are against the interest of the farmers and farm labourers.
