The World Sikh News ed­i­tor Jag­mo­han Singh and Sikh Siyasat ed­i­tor Par­m­jeet Singh vis­ited Kar­tarpur Sahib on 4 Sep­tem­ber 2019. CEL­E­BRAT­ING 550 YEARS OF BIRTH OF GURU NANAK, the Sikh world could not have asked for more. As soon as the Im­ran Khan-led Pak­istan gov­ern­ment an­nounced the de­ci­sion to open the Kar­tarpur Cor­ri­dor be­tween the two coun­tries, con­nect­ing dis­trict Gur­daspur of East Pun­jab with Narowal dis­trict of West Pun­jab, the Sikh world was in de­vo­tional ec­stasy. Seiz­ing the op­por­tu­nity, the In­dian gov­ern­ment too re­sponded.

As the con­struc­tion works are get­ting com­pleted, Sikhs world­wide are ex­cited about reach­ing Dar­bar Sahib, Kar­tarpur Sahib, where Guru Nanak spent the last 18 years of his life.

Gob­ind Singh de­voutly speaks about the progress of work at Dar­bar Sahib Kar­tarpur Sahib and is con­fi­dent that by 12 No­vem­ber 2019, when thou­sands of Sikhs from all over the world reach there to cel­e­brate the 550th birth an­niver­sary of Guru Nanak with piety, love, de­vo­tion and the tra­di­tion Sikh spirit of Sewa, every­thing will be in place and in or­der.

Sikhs hope and pray that in the not too dis­tant fu­ture, the ar­ti­fi­cial Rad­cliff line will van­ish, the two Pun­jabs will come to­gether and Sikhs will have un­fet­tered ac­cess to Kar­tarpur Sahib and the vast Sikh her­itage and legacy in var­i­ous parts of Pak­istan.
