The Global Sikh Council has strongly condemned the disrespect towards Kashmiri women in the derogatory remarks of the right-wing BJP leadership. India, known for its cultural and ethical values should recognize that political conflicts notwithstanding, all people, particularly women should be addressed and treated with respect and dignity.  GSC chief Lady Kanwaljit Singh has said, “Sikhs must respect the dignity and rights of all people and follow the path of Guru Tegh Bahadur in upholding the right to religion of all peoples and communities.” She complimented the Delhi-based Sikh group that ensured safe travel of Kashmiri women from Pune to their home and hearth in Kashmir.
