Cas­ti­gat­ing the In­dian gov­ern­ment for ini­ti­at­ing pro­ceed­ings of in­ves­ti­ga­tion through the Na­tional In­ves­tiga­tive Agency against Farmer lead­ers, singers, jour­nal­ists, video­g­ra­phers and ac­tivists, Lok In­saaf Party Pres­i­dent Simar­jit Singh Bains called the agency MIA -Modi In­ves­tiga­tive Agency and de­nounced the at­tempt to crush the dis­sent­ing voice of farm­ers and farmer lead­ers and their sup­port­ers.

The Lok In­saaf Party, in a state­ment is­sued in Lud­hi­ana by its party pres­i­dent, de­nounced the pro­ceed­ings by the Na­tional In­ves­tiga­tive Agency against many peo­ple in Pun­jab. Simar­jit Singh Bains said, “This is a mur­der of democ­racy. This is ac­tu­ally Modi In­ves­tiga­tive Agency and Modi is do­ing this to cre­ate fear psy­chosis amongst oth­ers so that peo­ple favour the Bharatiya Janata Party. 

“The peo­ple of Pun­jab will not be over­awed by such no­tices and such no­tices are noth­ing but garbage not even worth the pa­per on which they are writ­ten,” he added. 

The Trac­tor march into Delhi on 26 March is go­ing to in­fuse more sup­port to the Farm­ers Mor­cha and their re­solve to con­tinue their fight for their rights. 

Mem­ber of the Pun­jab Leg­isla­tive As­sem­bly Simar­jit Singh Bains de­manded in the strongest pos­si­ble terms re­it­er­ated that the only way out of the pre­sent sit­u­a­tion for the Gov­ern­ment of In­dia is to re­peal the anti-farmer anti-peo­ple farm laws, ac­cept the de­mand for le­gal­is­ing Min­i­mum Sup­port Prices (MSP) and aban­don the pro­pos­als to pe­nalise stub­ble burn­ing and in­cre­ments in elec­tric­ity charges. 

Bains quipped, “Modi has to de­cide whether he wants to save face or go down in his­tory as a despot.”
