Modern Bhai Ghanaiyas in action at Holla Mohalla

In the true spirit of legendary Sikh care-giver Bhai Ghanaiya Ji, volunteers and activists of the Mumbai based Sat Sri Akaal Trust, Bhai Ghanaiya Association Mumbai and the Nasik-based Rainbow Foundation, distributed medicines free to nearly 5000 pilgrims during the recently concluded 3-day Holla Mohalla celebrations at Nanded. The team members were seen working to provide medicines and first aid round the clock during these three days.
Sat Sri Akal Trust has been doing this Sewa -service for humankind, for the last three decades, year after year.
Volunteer doctors and health activists undertook special arrangements for medication and bandages for youth injured during Gatka performance during the Nagar (Nagar Kirtan is called Nagar in Nanded) and the typical ritual of passing through the belly of the horses believed to be from the lineage of the horses in the army of the Tenth Master -Guru Gobind Singh.
At the concluding ceremony, Tara Singh MLA, president of the Takht Sachkhand Hazur Sahib Prabandhak Committee honoured Puran Singh Banga of the Sat Sri Akal Trust and his associates for their humanitarian work. Similarly, Rainbow Foundation activist Satyen Sethi was also felicitated.
