In a remarkably detailed coverage, which is rare for minority communities in this country, Hindi language Navbharat Times – a Times of India publication has extensively covered the role, contribution, trials and tribulations of the Sikhs in Mumbai.

The editorial team of NBT invited Sikh politicians, religious leaders, social activists, bankers, academicians and others to participate in a round table discussion prior to publication.

Focusing on service to humanity as their prime contribution to society, be it during peace times through accommodation and care of cancer patients and families, natural calamities and difficult periods like rains, community leaders were humble about their contribution and  virtually without complaints. They narrated how they built their lives brick-by-brick after migration during the partition of the sub-continent in 1947.
