As the Tamil Diaspora worldwide observed the tenth anniversary of the killings of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka, the leadership of the New Democratic Party joined Tamil Canadians in ‘honouring and remembering the thousands who were killed in the Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka.’

Andrea Horwath, Leader of the Ontario NDP and Ontario’s Official Opposition joined party leader Jagmeet Singh in “standing with the community in their ongoing struggle for justice and for formal recognition of this historical truth.”

Andrea Horwath through her Facebook post expressed solidarity with Eelam Tamils and was hopeful of more Tamil participation in the social and political life of Canada.
