New DSGMC Executive Committee on 19 January 2019
A new DSGMC Executive is likely to be formed on 19 Janaury if all goes well at the general house convened for that date by the present officiating leaders owing allegiance to the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal.
After weeks of wrangling among DSGMC members, the officiating president of the body, Harmeet Singh Kalkaji and General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa have announced that the new executive committee of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee would be formed at the meeting of the general house of the Board scheduled to be held on 19 January 2019 at the Conference Hall of the DSGMC in the Guru Gobind Singh Bhawan in the Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib complex in New Delhi.
It may be noted that the present executive committee of the DSGMC was dissolved on 6 December, nearly 3 months prior to it completing its full term. Technically, the date was to be fixed by the Commissioner Gurdwara Elections.
As WSN has reported earlier, hectic bargaining and intervention by the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal is going on behind the scenes to select and then elect a mutually acceptable leader. The present stalemate has come about because of old corruptions tumbling out of the cupboards of the DSGMC and the leadership tussle between Manjit Singh GK and Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Meanwhile the cases of corruption against outgoing President Manjit Singh GK alleged by DSGMC member Gurmeet Singh Shunty, are still embroiled in legal wrangling.
