Environmental activist and political analyst, Sivagangai-based electrical engineer Senthil Kumar Subramanian narrates NTK leader Seeman’s love for Tamil nationalist leader Prabhakaran on the occasion of his sixty-fifth birthday.

NAAM TAMILAR KATCHI LEADER SEEMAN joined Tamil nationalists worldwide to pay glorious tributes on the sixty-fifth birth anniversary of Velupillai Prabhakaran who decades back had led a determined struggle to uphold the cause of Tamil nationalism and the rights of Eelam Tamils in Sri Lanka. Seeman said Prabhakaran continues to inspire him, his party to uphold Tamil rights in the face of oppression and suppression.

In a statement released to the media today, Seeman greeted Tamils on the occasion of the birthday of the Tamil Eelam leader Prabhakaran, calling him “my leader, my brother”, who became a martyr for the cause of Tamil Eelam, in the armed struggle against the Sinhalese government.

Velupillai Prabhakaran was born in the northern coastal town of Valvettithurai on 26 November 1954, as the youngest of four children to Thiruvenkadam Velupillai and Vallipuram Parvathy.

Being a staunch supporter of the role played by Prabhakaran in leading the Tamil struggle in Sri Lanka, the Naam Tamilar Katchi has declared that “Prabhakaran was a Tamil national hero who endeavoured to demolish the bondage of slavery of the Sinhalese who were instrumental in killing thousands of Eelam Tamils.”

Naam Tamilar Katchi party makes no bones about its affinity for Prabhakaran and the remarkable role he played to establish the Tamil nation on the face of the earth in Sri Lanka. Extolling his leadership qualities, NTK chief coordinator Seeman said, “He had the clarity to say that he was opposed to the Sinhalese army and not the Sinhalese people.” “It is a matter of pride for all Tamils to recall and imbibe the qualities of Prabhakaran that set him apart from other leaders,” he added.

“I spend every moment of my life with Prabhakaran. I am able to redeem myself from pitfalls and overcome stress and fear of death by living up to his ideals. I yearn my son to be like him to carry on the legacy of Tamil nationalism.”

Seeman said that “the aspiration of Prabhakaran for a sovereign, independent Tamil Eelam as the motherland of Tamils where they can study in their own mother tongue Tamil, where they are not subjected as second-class citizens, where their democratic, civil and political rights are not crushed, will continue to inspire Tamils to work selflessly for the creation of an egalitarian society in Sri Lanka as well as in Tamil Nadu.

Striking a personal note, Seeman, an ardent supporter of Prabhakaran, with a life-size photo with him adorning the NTK office, said, “I spend every moment of my life with Prabhakaran. I am able to redeem myself from pitfalls and overcome stress and fear of death by living up to his ideals. I yearn my son to be like him to carry on the legacy of Tamil nationalism.”
