Orders to kill came from PMO in Delhi 1984 and from CMO in Gujarat 2002

World Sikh News strongly condemns the use of the agony of November 1984 victims in electioneering by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Delhi-based Sikh leaders and activists.

Why does it not shame Narendra Modi -Prime Minister India, who has been in power for 5 long years, whose party has been in power earlier too to tell the people of Punjab during the elections that “we assure justice to the Sikh victims of 1984”.

Listening to Amit Shah –the Bharatiya Janta Party chief talking about 1984 brought more anger than relief.

It is intriguing that both the Bharatiya Janta Party and the November 1984 rights champion Harvinder Singh Phoolka should give a statement about the involvement of the PMO –the Prime Minister’s Office of Rajiv Gandhi in the November 1984 tragedy on the same day, nearly at the same time. Every Sikh knows that, even if every Indian does not.

Human rights champion Harvinder Singh Phoolka should coach the Sikhs about the universality of a pogrom and how should citizens fight it.  Punjab needs to be told about Modi’s Muslim killing spree in Gujarat. India’s PMO and Gujrat’s CMO are culprits number one in this dangerous game of genocide.

Adopting a selective approach is sin. Phoolka needs to tell loudly and unmistakably to all political parties that doing politics in the name of Sikh widows is a shameful practice and both should stop it. Or is it that Phoolka sounding pro-BJP a precursor to something in the offing?

It is comforting to note that the Indian media has noted that of all the states of India, it is only Punjab which does not have the Modi-wave and there are no visible Modi-bhakts –diehard lovers of Modi and Modism.

It is disgusting, though not surprising that the President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and BJP MLA in the Delhi Assembly –Manjinder Singh Sirsa, along with Tarlochan Singh –the former aide of Giani Zail Singh, rehabilitated as chairperson of the National Minorities Commission and then as Rajya Sabha Member Parliament, but whose inglorious past cannot be wished away, have the gumption to appeal to the Sikhs to vote for Narendra Modi. This brings instant reminders of the adjective “toadies” so easily used by Bhai Sahib Sirdar Kapur Singh to describe such-like leaders of the yesteryears.

It is really sad that after taking a tough stand and even ostensibly annoying his candidate son Parminder Singh Dhindsa, veteran Akali leader Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, should betray his conscience and urge people to elect Modi. In a press meet, these leaders tell us that the Modi government has abolished the blacklist of Sikhs. Is that a reason for joy? The India state made the list, made life difficult for hundreds of Diaspora Sikhs and now they have abolished the list. Doing justice in an old case is no favour, isn’t it?

These three leaders are expecting that the new Modi government will release Sikh prisoners unmindful of the fact that this government has committed many human rights violations against the Sikh youth.

Sukhbir Singh Badal very cleverly managed to oust Manjit Singh GK out of the presidency of DSGMC and managed to install Manjinder Singh Sirsa as the President. Now like all the above leaders, Manjit Singh GK is also using the Trilokpuri judgement of the Supreme Court of India to gain re-entry into Sikh politics of Delhi.

The victim families of November 1984 must manage their own lives at their earliest. Otherwise, vultures are waiting to pounce!
