Punjab votes for 13 parliamentary constituencies on 19 May
Under the shadow of central police forces, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and 5 other states go to polls on 19 May in the last phase of the general elections in India.
The electorate of Punjab will vote for candidates in the thirteen constituencies of Punjab tomorrow 19 May, which has seen a massive contest involving arch-rivals Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress party.
As many as 215 companies of central police forces with a total of nearly 85,000 police personnel will be on active duty to ensure free and fair polls.
Statistically speaking there will be 12002 booths all across the state of Punjab and every booth will broadcast live the election process to the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab.
Liquor joints have been shut, there is a cap on advertising on social media and outsiders from other states are being told to leave the state.
