Naam Tamilar Katchi Chief coordinator Seeman has called for all linguistic nationalities, living in the Indian Union to join hands to fight for linguistic nationality rights, sovereignty and autonomy of peoples and regional identities. It is time to destruct the dominating BJP and Congress regimes who take turns to subjugate peoples and trample their rights. He tells the Sikhs, “you are not alone in this hour, the Tamil world joins you in sharing your grief and concerns. The pro-Tamil party “We Tamils” endorses your aspirations and will ensure that such a glorious chapter of history -when Sikhs laid down their lives for their dignity and honour is known to the non-Sikh world too.

IT IS THE 36TH YEAR OF REMEMBRANCE OF THE SIKH GENOCIDE. Sikhs were branded terrorists and traitors in India and subsequently attacked in the most vicious manner by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, merely because they wanted to live their lives with dignity and self-respect.

“Like the Sikhs, Tamils have been subjected to genocide, and we have been crying hoarse at various international forums including the United Nations to get justice for the genocide of Eelam Tamils since the last 30 years,” reads the statement of the pro-Tamil nationalist leader Seeman, issued on 6 June at Chennai.

The sons of the soil -Sikhs, who were protecting their Sikh shrines -Gurdwaras were abhorrently attacked and I feel proud of the fact that they had waged a valiant battle to uphold the dignity of Sikhism and attained martyrdom.

It is ultimate brutality that the Indian Army entered the Golden Temple which the holiest of the holy place of Sikhs in the first week of June 1984 in Amritsar and killed hundreds of men, women and children and pilgrims with their hands tied behind their back.

“We Tamils, who practice the philosophy of Classical littérateur, Pura Naanooru who said,  “Yaathum Oore Yaavarum Keleer”, which means “I am a world citizen and every citizen is my own kith and kin.”

NTK party ideologue Dawning Jeeva, sharing this release told WSN that, “This dark page of Indian history has been kept under the wraps, but no more. We are now aware of this and will tell the Tamil world about it.”

Speaking to World Sikh News, Seeman said, “We Tamils, who practice the philosophy of Classical littérateur, Pura Naanooru who said,  “Yaathum Oore Yaavarum Keleer”, which means “I am a world citizen and every citizen is my own kith and kin.” We are participating in the Sikh Genocide remembrance week and sharing the sorrows of the Sikh people. We stand together with all Sikhs to get justice for the Sikh Genocide.”

Senthamizhan Seeman reiterated that the Tamils in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu have been reduced to second-class citizens by successive central and state governments. He added, “I am pleased with the interest being taken by a section of the Sikh community including in the Diaspora about Tamil affairs and Tamil genocide in Sri Lanka.”
