Sikh Social Activist, traveller Harjinder Singh Kukreja crosses Twitter one million

 -  -  194

Young social activist Harjinder Singh Kukreja is the new age media artiste, influencer and world traveller who joins the one million Twitter club through his activism, which makes his international followers, family, friends, the community and the World Sikh News proud of his unparallelled achievement.

Harjinder Singh Kukreja is the new age social media influencer who zealously creates interest in global and local humanitarian causes and goodwill for Sikhs and evinces interest in Sikhism and its values through his Twitter media craftsmanship, which makes him the first such Sikh social activist to cross the million followers mark.

He is not a politician with a constituency nor a singer or an actor with a fan following. He is not a sportsperson who has won medals and not an engineering start-up or a management guide.  Sifting chaff from the grain, he chisels out news, adding his nuances which makes reading interesting, the focus universal and not parochial which has resulted in the momentous occasion of him literally carving out an indelible niche in the Sikh social media world on the internet and as a Sikh youth icon in life.

Beyond social media, he has had extensive and exclusive coverage of his events and activities in the media in Ludhiana and Punjab. World Sikh News is delighted on his achievement and is privileged to have him as our close associate, supporter and critic.

Whenever Harjinder Singh Kukreja steps foot in a new country or a new place, delves into a new subject, he carries with him his indomitable spirit of adventure, his knowledge of the heritage and legacy of Sikhs, his vast experience and reach of active and significant influence in the world through social media.

An institution by himself, as part of his humanitarian commitment, he would be travelling this month to Gaziantep, Turkey to meet Syrian refugees being taken care of by the Turkish government.  On a trip sponsored by Visit Britain, he would be discovering London and Birmingham as family destinations, where he travels with his wife and two sons to celebrate Christmas and to know and acknowledge the Sikh contribution to British society.

If ever the Sikh community institutes a prize for a Sikh Global Goodwill Ambassador of the Sikhs, who through his social activism, Twitter reach and travels worldwide have made a name for the community and himself, I find it difficult to find a better contender than Harjinder Singh Kukreja of Ludhiana, Punjab.

At a time when the Sikh media is evolving and the Social Network presence of the Sikhs is vastly amateurish, Harjinder Singh Kukreja comes out loud and clear as a torch-bearer of Sikh values and the universal ethics of the Sikh religion. His communiques and style of promoting the goodness of the Sikh community are emulated making him the Global Goodwill Ambassador of the Sikhs with his reach in the Sikh and non-Sikh world.

All but 31, Harjinder is a global citizen with strong traditional roots, a variety of interests, an amazing media reach -social, print and internet, with an impactful authentic and verified ‘public figure’ presence on various social media platforms.

With his Twitter followers count touching a million, Harjinder Singh Kukreja has joined the crème de la crème club of social media activists. Actor and singer Amninderpal Singh Virk, popularly known as Ammy Virk joined him in cutting the one-million-followers cake.

Whenever Harjinder Singh Kukreja steps foot in a new country or a new place, delves into a new subject, he carries with him his indomitable spirit of adventure, his knowledge of the heritage and legacy of Sikhs, his vast experience and reach of active and significant influence in the world through social media.

His sophisticated forays into meeting diplomats around the globe, his work with highlighting the contribution of Sikhs in the World Wars, presence at the unveiling of the bust of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in St. Tropez, France, scuba diving with the turban in Turkey and skydiving with the turban in Melbourne, and his unique detours as a keen family traveler have been acknowledged by diplomats, governments and tourism boards of many countries.  His passionate cycling to evoke public interest in the environment and a variety of social causes in Berlin, Paris, Mumbai and Singapore makes him a God-gifted multi-faceted personality.

His achievements would be a little less complete without acknowledging his business acumen as a restauranteur and chocolatier whose Kukreja family brought Sanjeev Kapur’s delicious dishes to Ludhiana followed by Harjinder’s forays into French cuisine and Belgian chocolates.

Significantly, he does all this with the responsibility and professionalism of a well-established business person, the intervention of a public speaker and influencer, the gregariousness of a Punjabi and the devotion and philanthropy of a Sikh.

With his Twitter followers count touching a million, Harjinder Singh Kukreja has joined the crème de la crème club of social media activists.

Starting as Sikhi Message Sewa, nearly 8 years ago, on the occasion of Tercentenary of Guru Granth Sahib, Harjinder Singh Kukreja will use the latest technologies to usher in celebrations of the forthcoming Guru Nanak Purab 550-year celebrations in his own inimitable way. If his Sikhi Message Sewa (SMS) was a downpour as WSN then wrote, from the one million Twitter onwards it is going to be a thunderstorm of adorable and lovable messages.
