At the just concluded meeting of the Takht Harmandir Sahib Patna Sahib Management Board, here today, headed by President Avtar Singh Hit,  the resignation of Takht Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh has finally been accepted and he has been relieved of all his duties and responsibilities. This has been done according to urgent directions of the Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib,  Giani Harpreet Singh conveyed through two special messengers who reached from Amritsar for the meeting.

The World Sikh News was told by Takht Sahib Committee Vice President Indarjit Singh on the phone that ten out of fourteen members attended today’s meet and Jathedar Rajinder Singh of Patna Sahib has been been appointed officiating Head Granthi as per the provisions of the Takht Harmandirji Patna Sahib Management Act.

He will stay till further orders from Jathedar Akal Takht, he added.
