At the just con­cluded meet­ing of the Takht Har­mandir Sahib Patna Sahib Man­age­ment Board, here to­day, headed by Pres­i­dent Av­tar Singh Hit,  the res­ig­na­tion of Takht Jathedar Gi­ani Iqbal Singh has fi­nally been ac­cepted and he has been re­lieved of all his du­ties and re­spon­si­bil­i­ties. This has been done ac­cord­ing to ur­gent di­rec­tions of the Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib,  Gi­ani Harpreet Singh con­veyed through two spe­cial mes­sen­gers who reached from Am­rit­sar for the meet­ing.

The World Sikh News was told by Takht Sahib Com­mit­tee Vice Pres­i­dent In­dar­jit Singh on the phone that ten out of four­teen mem­bers at­tended to­day’s meet and Jathedar Ra­jin­der Singh of Patna Sahib has been been ap­pointed of­fi­ci­at­ing Head Granthi as per the pro­vi­sions of the Takht Har­mandirji Patna Sahib Man­age­ment Act.

He will stay till fur­ther or­ders from Jathedar Akal Takht, he added.
