WSN brings you SP Singh’s Daleel –a refreshingly different perspective

In keeping with its commitment to showcase quality content, WSN is proud to feature senior journalist, SP Singh’s work. Aimed at the intelligent, argumentative, educated Punjabi, “Daleel with SP Singh” remains highly content driven. It does not shy away from taking contrarian positions and has carved out a very special niche. WSN will regularly share the YouTube video of his weekly show.

If you have any connect with engaged, intelligent journalism in and about Punjab, you would be familiar with SP Singh. Known for his rapier style questioning, armed with facts, loaded with data, and with his sharp grasp on international and domestic politics, SP Singh is now known for his weekly headlining political debate show, “Daleel with SP Singh.”

World Sikh News is about interventionist journalism. WSN practices journalism that effects, pursues or fights for change. It believes in content that can jolt people to take up the cudgels to bring about change, at both, personal and societal level.

In his recent show about the Christchurch, New Zealand, killings, SP Singh drew the arch connecting Islamophobia across the globe and the divisive faultlines in Indian society as well as within the larger Sikh community. Viewers will notice that while his eyes welled up and his throat betrayed the soul-shattering pain that laced the narrative, the show succeeded in making us look inwards to see if we, too, have our own 73-page-long manifestos that shame us.

It is alright if you feel like crying, or burst into tears; it will merely be proof of the humanity intact inside you. Still better would be to take the discourse forward and kickstart conversations that the community has not been having for a long time now.

WSN will be bringing you more of his work. SP Singh will engage you with contemporary political and social issues, but unlike the quintessential television debates, you will be proud of the layered, nuanced and inter-disciplinary approach.

His single minded pursuit is to cut through the noise, but not claim a monopoly over truth. He brings to fore multiple points of view but does not believe in false equivocation. He believes there is an audience out there that pines for intelligent journalism, one that does not insult the viewers’ intelligence.

He believes that intelligent journalism’s prime purpose is to raise the bar of public discourse, particularly in times of dumbing down of media, and takes pride in being a part of the efforts to create platforms where ideas meet, clash, get thrashed out and sometimes left loose for many more debates.

As for his work, WSN will never say, ‘enjoy the show.’  That’ll be too clichéd a thing to say about a show that will engage you, question you, provoke you, rattle you and even leave you numb at times.

Take a deep breath and partake of the first show that we showcase on Daleel with SP Singh – New Zealand massacre, Jacinda Ardern’s role and the immigrant within and among us. While viewing this do not forget to click Show More below the video to know the details in English too.

Would you like to have a Jacinda Ardern in your country?
